Group Psychotherapy

Group therapy is a dynamic treatment approach that most clients enjoy. It has been shown to be just as effective as individual therapy for a range of concerns. At this time, Chambers and Blohm is offering:

A Yalom-style Interpersonal Process group.

The purpose of this group is to explore one’s interpersonal reactions, give and receive interpersonal feedback, and learn and practice new interpersonal skills and behaviors. This is a “closed” group, meaning that new members must be invited to join. If you are interested in joining, please call to schedule a pre-group consultation session with Dr. Krumm.

An Adolescent DBT Skills Group.

Mondays from 4:30 to 5:45 pm starting September 9, 2024.
(The current cohort is closed, but, if you are interested in joining the next cohort, please call to be placed on a waitlist.)

Dialectical behavior therapy, or DBT, is a cognitive-behavioral therapy designed for individuals who struggle to regulate their emotions. DBT can be helpful for adolescents struggling with high stress, self-harm, disordered eating, suicidality, alcohol or drug use, friend and relationship problems, family conflict, and school avoidance. In this 24-week group, participants will learn skills to cope with challenging emotions. Those skills are divided into five domains: mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and walking the middle path.

This group is open to ages 13-17. All participants will be required to have an established individual therapist in addition to their group work. If a participant does not already have an individual therapist, he or she is welcome to establish with one at our clinic.
