Parent Training

CHILD / ADOLESCENT SERVICES

Research has shown that, for many behavioral problems, the most effective treatment is not actually aimed at the child – it’s aimed at the parents.

Parent training helps equip caregivers with practical tools to support their child’s emotional and behavioral development. It can be delivered as part of the process of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy or PCIT, which involves both the caregivers and the child (learn more here), or with the caregivers alone.

Caregivers enjoy a safe space to process the challenges of parenting, while also learning about their child’s unique diagnosis and the evidence-based behavioral strategies that will work best for meeting that child’s needs.
