Individual (one-on-one) therapy for children and teens focuses on building emotional awareness and resilience, improving behavior, and strengthening communication with family and peers. Children and teens are offered a safe space to process their concerns; for younger children, parents are expected to be closely involved.
Our clinicians are trained in a variety of evidence-based psychotherapy approaches including:
- Behavior Therapy / Parent-Child Interaction Therapy or PCIT (the gold standard treatment for young children with disruptive or oppositional behaviors — learn more here » )
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT (great for changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy or DBT (great for those with big emotions, stormy relationships, and self-destructive behaviors)
- Exposure and Response Prevention or ERP (for OCD, panic, phobias, avoidance, and perfectionism)
- Play Therapy (best for children ages 3-10 with internalizing concerns, trauma, or difficulty processing or communicating emotions — learn more here » )
